Navigating Marital Distance: Understanding and Addressing Loss of Attraction & Happiness
QuestionI am writing to you because I don't know what to do.Seven years of marriage. My husband told me 5 days ago he was not attracted to me sexually anymore and now he says he is not happy anymore.
We've had conversation and he has said it's him not me. When he looks at me I still see love in his eyes I think. He works seven days a week we have 2 children. He told me he started feeling this way a year ago. I work 4 days out Of the week like 3 hours average a day. I take care of the children. He has mention to me that he doesn't have to leave because he knows he doesn't miss me because I am never home.Because I told him that i think he needs to go stay somewhere else to sort his feelings out he said why your never around anyway.I work hours all over the place.
Hope you can give me some advice.
thanks Patricia
AnswerWell it sounds like he may have found someone else to play with during his 7 days of "work." Since he isn't around anyway, the seperation phase is kind of mute. Find out what his view is for a next step, if he doesn't want to leave, what does he want to do? Contemplating a divorce is a big move, does he realize what the child support and/or alimony might be. These are the main things to consider along with where will each partner live with the kids? Sometimes these contemplations may lead to counceling and a repair of the marriage, sometimes not. An exercise you both have to go through I guess.
