Marriage Requirements & Parental Consent: What You Need to Know
QuestionI have read up on marriage that needs parental consent. Although it hasn't specified whether it needs both parents to consent. The mother completely approves but the father, although he doesn't know me, probably would like to kill me. Her parents are divorced but they both still have full custody I believe. So anyway... Could her mother alone fill out the forms necessary for her to marry? Or does her father HAVE to give his consent as well?
AnswerHi You~
I believe that as long as one parent is willing to give his/her consent to marry, then that's all the court needs in order to approve the marriage between one or two minors. You could also have the mother (since she's more accepting of you) check into what your current state laws are on this subject. I hope this helps you some.
