i had acyrllic nails put on 2 weeks ago how long do they stay on and especially they were done with a french manicure

HI Susan
Nail enhancements can stay on indefinately IF you continue their regular maintenance and refill them every 2-4 weeks.
With regards to a french manicure, as your nails grow, the enhancement will grow away from your cuticle.
Eventually, you will see your own natural smile line appear (that is where the pink part of your nail meets your free edge/white) before the 'french' smile line and this means the french has grown out and needs to be redone.
On average, enhancements are refilled every 2wks.
IF they are not, 2 problems arise:
-you will risk 'lift' (this is when the product seperates from the nail) and it will catch on things and if you get moisture in the space of the lift, you risk getting a nail infection (aka greenies aka mold aka mushrooms)
-the 'apex' of the enhancement will have grown out from it's original position and put you at risk of breakage. The apex is the thickest part of the enhancement, about the area of the smile line. It's thickest there to give the enhancement support and strength. When it grows out of position, it's no longer doing it's job and you risk breaks that can hurt if they are right down to the 'quick of the nail'.

AnswerDear Susan;
Regarding your statement "these acyrllic nails were put on by using like a drill but to file the nails onto the like the base of the nails what could happen how long would they stay on", it sounds suspiciously to me as if MMA based acrylic was used on your nails. You need to remove this by soaking in pure acetone. MMA is highly toxic. Likely after you remove it, your natural nails will be damaged as electric files aka drills should NEVER NEVER EVER be used on natural nails, ONLY on the product.
I am still in no position to advise how long they will stay on. This varies person to person.
