Understanding Nail Whitening: Causes & Solutions

 I've recently started growing my nails and I regularly look after them. Even though the overall shape and length looks good the end, white part of my nail lets them down. Some parts are white and others are clear and transparent and it spoils the overall look of my hands. Is there a reason they do this (possibly dietery reasons)or is it just something ill have to put up with and use nail polish to cover up?

I'm sorry but it a bit hard to answer without having looked at your nails. Thow your diet influences your nails it's only a small influence, so i doubt this is the reason. The biggest influences nails receive is the way they are treated (if they're in the water all the time, if they are moiturized, atc), so try to wear gloves when doing housework and use lotion or cuticle oil on them daily to see if they improve. There are also some white pencils on the market to paint the underside of your nails, maibe you should try this to minimize the color diference.
