Removing White Marks from Acrylic Nails: A Nail Technician's Explanation

Question
Hi, I have had my acrylic nails filled at different salons and seem to have the same problem when I get the french manicure. The instrument they use leaves white marks and when I tell the technician that I don't like it, they all say that it is the instrument. Well, can't they use a buffer after so that the marks are not there?
Thank you,
Karen

Answer
Hi,

I'm assuming you are speaking of a drill that is used
at certain salons to file and shape the nails
if you have a tech who acts as if the marks they are leaving is
ok, you really need to get a new tech! The marks are called
fire lines! It is causing allot of damage!
Filing with a nail file is much safer and more sanitary
if the file is disposed of! So yes a file and a buffer are definetly
a choice in the tools a tech uses when you are getting your nails done.
If you find a good tech it should be the same time and same maybe better look!

Good luck!
