Acrylic Nail Issues: Why They Chip & Damage Natural Nails

Question
I have acrylic nails and I hate them.  They barely last a week and a half before chipping.  My natural nails have the tendency to curl inward underneath them - so i think this is why they chip and break.  I need to do something else.  I am a professional woman who owns her own company and I need my nails to look good.  The chipped acrylics are not attractive and my own natural nails are also not attractive.  i don't have time to get a fill in more than once every two weeks and i like to keep my nails short. Can you suggest something that would work better than the acrylics?  I sincerely think the problem is my natural nails and there tendency to curl away from the overlay.

Thanks for your help

Answer
If your nails are chipping and looking unattractive, it can be because they are a low quality product, or because you own nails are drying out and pulling away from the product.  They need to be oiled daily to keep your own nails conditioned and adhered to the nail enhancement.

If your nails have a tendency to curl anyway, your nails should not have tips with an overlay applied, they should be sculptured every time to create an edge to sort of "hug" your nail into the product.

If you like your nails short and manicured appearing, Gel may be the best option for you.  It is lightweight, and very thin.
