Why Are My Acrylic Nails Turning Yellow & Breaking? - Causes & Solutions

Question
Hello,
My friend bought all the stuff to do acrylic nails recently, so she said she would do my nails. They looked really good afterwards, but within the next 2 days each nail got a slight yellow tinge to it, so i decided to take them off! all i had to do was put slight pressure and the nail would snap off!! She had her nails done professionally and they had but considerably more acrylic on, could this be why my nails went yellow and breakable?
I dont smoke or use sunbeds, her brushes were brand new and so was the rest of her stuff.... what has gone wrong????
Thank you in advance for your help :)

Answer
Well, first of all I would suggest going to a professional! Thats why you pay somebody to do them so they come out right. However, I am sure the reason they came right off is because your friend probably didnt apply the primer correctly and she probably didn't  file them perfectly around your cuticles and buff them down so they blend with your natural nail.

The reason they turned yellow is probably due to.. a bad top coat nail polish. This can also happen when there is too much liquid used when applying the acrylic. It takes a perfect combination of liquid and powder to create the perfect acrylic.
