Identifying and Valuing German Imperial Rings

Question
Some time ago, in fact on 9/2/2007, someone wrote to you that they had a ring with the inside engraved with:
Wilhelm II Deutscher Kasier Konig V. Preussen on one side, then on the other Deutsches Reich with a date, and Drei Mark. At the time, you indicated it may be s souvenier or gift item, but did not elaborate. I also have such a ring, either sterling or regular silver. Have you ever been able to establish what this may be valued at, and if there is anyone who collects or purchases such items?  Thanks, Mike

Answer
Hello Mike and thank you for your inquiry. This appears to be a miniature coin ring. Your best bet would be to check with coin collectors online or one of the online auctions such as ebay.com for similar items to get a feel for todays market value. There are collectors of coin jewelry and I'm sure you could value or sell your ring with one of the online coin collecting sites. You can have it tested for silver by a jeweler or gemologist. Hope this helps and enjoy your ring !
