Victorian Ring
I purchased a 10K gold Victorian style ring (mounting only)from ebay and was wandering if you could give me an estimate as to what it would cost to have a mounting put in it. I'm not sure if I want diamond or gemstone yet, so both estimates would be appreciated. The weight of the ring is 1.5 grams.It has prongs & it said it will hold a 10 to 15 point stone. Also can any jewelry store do this for me? I have also attached a copy of the ring if this helps.

Well you need to determine what stone you will mount..diamonds depending on the 4 Cs ..color,caret,clarity,cut will vary from $50 to several
hundreds or more..and gemstones have the same range.do you know about moisenite ..it is a very good man made diamond....be very careful buying unmounted stones...you should compare prices and talk to a independant gemologist..try to find a reputable goldsmith to do the mounting..
