Understanding 24K Gold Rings: What Does 'AK' Mean?

Question
I have a ring that i was given 5years ago.  The inside is stamped as 24K AK.  It is a very heavy ring.  What does the "24K AK" stand for?

Answer
Amanda, if this ring is actually what the marks indicate, you have a ring made of 24 karat gold, pure gold.  The AK would be the makers mark according to stamping regulations in the USA.

The only to know for certain if the 24k is valid is to have the ring tested by a competent jeweler.  You should call before visiting a jeweler to be certain they do the testing of metal. Some jewelers do not do this testing.

Best wishes in having a ring of the highest level of gold!

God Bless and Peace.  Thomas.
