Questioni have been married for four years,my husband recently used violence against me,but the police did not press charges,he has locked me out of the house a few times.i would like to know if this is against the law in the uk.

I don't know if it is lawful in the U.K., but I am wondering what you are still doing in that marriage? It seems pretty clear to me that your husband in not inclined to show much respect to you two being together. Think about it. Talk to him , and fix the problems or leave. Life is too short for anyone to have to deal with violence from a husband.
Would you accept a stranger being violent to you? Of course not......so why would you even consider staying with anyone who is supposed to be a loving husband, and he is violent with you?
btw, if the house belongs to both of you, he doesn't have the right to lock you out.
