Navigating Parental Concerns About Your Relationship: A Guide
QuestionMy Mother is against my marriage cause she thinks that the guy whom i love is greedy and loves me for money, However the story is different, The guy is very good and helps every one he meets, how can a person with a such a caring nature be selfish and greedy. To prove my point I have spend lot of time we fought, we love and we argued ( I think that's a part of everyone's life) but still our relation exists till date.. I have been in relation with him for more than 4 years now, am mature enough to understand the person's intention. My other family members are fine with this relation and tried convincing my mother but failed, My Mother is the only decision maker in our family as she has sacrificed a lot for our upbringing .. My sister's arrange marriage hasn't turn out to be good... What do i do ..For my mother's sake i have told the backed out from the relation thought somewhere my gut feeling says that i will end up getting marrying the same guy and this is the reason am able to survive.
AnswerOne must be careful about the marriage choice. If you marry for love, be sure you know his family and whether or not he was close to his mother and father when he was a child growing up. His childhood role in the family is another factor as well as any history of criminal behaviour from teen years onward. If he does not have stable employment, your mother would be right to question his motives. There is much to consider whether a marriage is for love or arranged by your parents.
