LCN vs. Permanent Dip Powder: Which is Right for You?

Question
What's the difference between the two? For the past two months  I've had permanent french from a second nail tech, it wasn't as I expected it to be. I expected it to be clean cut and perfect, but the "pinks" weren't pink and i could still see the fill-in lines from my prior acrylics. I got so sick of looking at the permanents that i took them off today at work. I have an appointment with my first nail tech this saturday for lcn's. i'm hoping that you wont be able to see the rings of fire / fill-in lines. will the lcn gels be better than the permanent french? will it look cleaner and will the rings of fire be unnoticed? PLEASE HELP! thanks bunches!

Answer
Dear Jenn,
There should NOT be a difference.  "LCN" is a 'brand' of a product line.  With any product line of either traditional liquid & powder Acryic OR UV Gel, a "permanent French" may be created.

A "Permanent French" means that instead of using nail polish, the french is created using either  A) white acryic powder   or   B) white uv gel.  It can't be removed with nail polish remover, nor will it chip like polish might.

Rings of fire are caused by technicians that are either A) over filing the natural nail with a hand file   or  B) a tech that using an electric file on the natural nail plate and an electric file should NEVER touch the natural nail.
Rings of fire are damage caused by the friction of over filing.  They must grow out OR  be camouflaged with either a pink acrylic or a pink uv gel until they grow out.

Cloudiness or fill-in lines that are visible means the technician did not do his/her job properly in removing any lift and blending properly.  He/she is either poorly trained, inexperienced or not trained at all.

A "Permanent French" done by a qualified techician using quality products - whether they are acrylic or uv gel - can achieve a flawless french without rings of fire or fill-in lines.

Please see this page to learn more about NSS (Non Standard Salon) and MMA (a toxic ingredient found in illegal acrylic)  http://ongles-chez-victoria.tripod.com/victoriasnails/id18.html

An "LCN" is not better than a "Permanent French". Permanent French refers to a technique and the look of the nail. It has nothing to do with the quality of the products used or the skill of the technician.
A technician using "LCN" brand of UV Gels can create Permanent french's as well. Whether he/she is well trained and does them well.... that varies from technician to technician.

I hope that this helps answer your questions.
