QuestionI just got french tipped gel nails for the second time. I asked for LCN gel nails with permanent tips, and I don't think that's what I got(it is what I paid for).
The lady buffed my nails, glued fake extensions on, put a few layers of gel on(I put my hands under UV light), buffed it, sprayed white paint on, put another layer of gel on.
Does this sound right?
How can you tell if you nails are LCN?
What is the permanent tip and how is different than regular ones? How can you tell?
AnswerWell, there no such thing as permanent tips, i think you mean permanent french.
Tips are a method of extendind the lenght on your nails, the other is by sculpting. Both are valid methods and both obtain good results. Sculpting requires a bit more experience and abtains a more natural look, but it is usually more expensive.
Permanent french is done by applying a white gel to the tip of the nail, or when applying acrylic, a white acrylic.
It sounds like your nail tech airbrushed the white on an them applyed a gel layer to seal it. There is nothing wrong in doing this, because you can use nail polish over your nails, then remove it and still have the french underneath (that's why it's called permanent). Sometime techs do this after the last layer of gel, so if you use nail polish remover it removes the white, nothing wrong in doing this either, as long as they don't publicise it as permanent.
To tell if they are LCN you should check the labels on the gel pots, there's no other way.
As long as you're happy with the result it sounds like everything is OK.
