QuestionI just happened upon this site in looking for the difference between a French manicure and an American manicure, but in reading some of the questions and responses, I feel I may have great cause for concern! My nail salon charges $38 for a full set of pink and white acrylics, which I have been getting for well over a year now and they seem to be a textbook definition of a NSS. All the technicians wear masks, they use the electric drills on natural nails, and the acrylic is very difficult to remove. Just the last time I got my nails done, I got a new full set. First they tried to pry off the old stuff, then they soaked my nails, and used an electric drill to get the acrylic off. My natural nails were paper thin and tender to the touch. In addition, they hurt for an entire week after I got them done. What should I do? Do I need to remove the nails immediately? Have I been exposed to MMA? How do I know I am at a reputable salon, other than the price they charge? Help!
AnswerHi
Im afraid you definitely have been exposed to MMA and your salon is exactly that, not reputable. Maybe not a good idea to remove them as they are a new set now and u said your nails were painful underneath, i would find a salon to just maintain them and grow it off, find somewhere that is qualified perhaps by CREATIVE or SUPERNAIL or someone who works from home or a hairsalon, avoid all these asian type salons that use drills, ask for the new technicians qualifications, years of experience and what products they use and ask if they use a drill? this will guide you 2 find a good nail technician, make sure they have a licence (if u are in the States) and make sure they have at least 4 years experience.
Sorry for the bad news
