QuestionI had artificial nails - they said they were Solar Nails. They were not, I think they used MMA from what I can tell - it was very strong smelling - went right up my nose. And they were $52 for a set - not discount in my area. Each time I had a fill or rebalance they lifted at the edges. I had them done a few times at this salon and then I went elsewhere because I found a "Creative Solar Nail Grand Master" - yeah right. She was a worse hack than the others. Her nails wer uneven and rough which she proceeded to cover with clear topcoat.
Anyway, I soaked off the nails with acetone per directions from a website and friend who used to work in nails. That was very successful and I have naked nails. The problem is that they are thin and I have ridges from the drills in almost every fingernail. I am so angry at these techs - this was my first experience.
What can I do for my nails? I am oiling them and creaming them as much as I can during the day. Is there a product I can use to strengthen and protect them? Thanks so much for any advice.
AnswerAww you poor thing. I'm sorry this was your first experience in having enhancements. I assure that it doesn't have to be like this!
There is no such thing as a "Solar Nail" Grand Master btw. A grand master has mastered ALL products in the Creative Spectrum, and is listed as such. We have Liquid and Powder Masters, Rebalance Masters, Natural Nail Masters, and Nail Makeover masters.
If you want to find a REAL Grand Master in your area, shoot me an email at: heatherdavisnails@hotmail.com
OK, now on to your nails in their current, damaged state.
The damage from the excessive filing will need to grow out, and the first week is going to be uncomfy. If you are oiling them, make sure it's Solar Oil, and also use their Rejuvenator cuticle cream. Before you do that, pick up a bottle of CND "Toughen Up," and apply 3 coats. Apply one coat every other day until they feel normal again. But as for nail strengtheners, only use them as long as you need to, otherwise the keratin in your nails can be overly crosslinked and make the nails brittle.
Good luck! I hope you manage to get back on the horse soon. :)
