LCN Nail Removal Before Surgery: What You Need to Know
QuestionI have had lcn nails for over 10 years now. I can't seem to function without them. I have been told that they need to be removed prior to any surgery. Is this correct? I love my nail technician and her work is awesome, I just want another opinion. She said it is totally up to me.
AnswerHi Sandy,
I spoke to a nurse about this matter and she told me that the reason why they have you take off your nails is to see if you have enough oxygen in your blood. if your nail beds start to look purple that's a sign. It's difficult to see this through artificial nails.
Now the best way to do this is ask your doctor if your toes without polish would be ok! if not ask if you can take off just one nail.
Allot of times doctors are pretty good about this issue.
Hope this helps!
