QuestionHi,
I have a gold belt buckle ring with inscriptions on the inside. It looks like the markings are a crown, the number "18", an anchor on it's side, and a lower case "r". I was wondering where it was made and if it has any value today?
Thanks a lot,
Liz
AnswerHowdy,
From your description, it's 18Kt and was assayed at the Birmingham Assay Office.
The lower case 'r' would suggest it was assayed in 1916, however the 1952 'c' looks quite a lot like a lower case r and has caused confusion in the past.
Value? Well, gold is worth a lot more today than it was in 1916.
Hope it helps, Cheers, P
