My grandfather let me this ring and i cant figure out what it was for or from. He was in WW2 and was a trap shooter so it could be from that but the wording is rubbed off. the ring has 09 on the left side then in the middle says(from what i can see)antwe and a 90 on the right side its silver

Hello Alisha and thank you for your inquiry. It is very difficult to tell much about a ring where the markings are not clear. Did he give you any information on the ring ? If you believe it is gold or sterling, and especially since it is an heirloom, you might want to have an estate jewelry appraiser check it out. Sometimes if you can get a clear picture of the ring and then use magnification, some of the wording or marks will become clearer. If this is the case, then you can submit the picture to one of the online appraisal sites such as "What's It Worth To You" for a valuation.
