Identifying & Valuing a Vintage 1950s Air Force Sweetheart Bracelet
QuestionI have a 1950s Air Force Sweetheart Bracelet that my dad gave my mom probably back in the early 1950s. It has what appears to be a mother of pearl heart with the air force emblem on an expandable link bracklet. It reads 1/20 12K Tops, Stainless Steel Backs, Co Star. It does not read gold filled. Could you please tell me if this mark means gold filled or is it 12K? Also would you know the approximate value of this military bracelet? Thanks
AnswerHello Susan and thank you for your inquiry. Your beautiful bracelet is 12K gold filled with a stainless steel back. It was probably made by Star Jewelry Company in Providence, RI. Prices can vary depending on condition, design and rarity but most run about $100. Below is a link to a site that specializes in these bracelets that you may find interesting.
