QuestionHi Thomas, Many years ago I purchased little lock like connectors for my charm bracelet as the gold solder and split rings etc were breaking. I am pretty rugged on my jewelry. I now cannot find the actual name of the items or where to purchase them from. Nobody seems to have heard of them.
AnswerRayleigh, I seem to recall connectors from some years ago. The ones I remember are not available as far as I can tell. There is a strong connector called a "link lock", invented as best I can tell by a company in Australia. The info on this item is shown at the website below, that of an American jewelry supplier. The links close easily enough with pliers and are meant to stay closed. While sterling is not overly costly, gold will run quite a bit more.
Besides this company, local jewelers who happen to use a well known parts supplier called Stuller Findings can get the link lock for you. Stuller only sells through businesses and will not sell to individuals. For local jewelers near you, a phone call should give the answer if they use Stuller Findings. Ask about the link lock and the person on the other end of the phone may have no clue what you are talking about. This is in the Stuller findings catalog the store will have.
You may google link lock to find other possible suppliers. The link below is copy and paste.

Unfortunately, as we smile with new products coming to the market, we are not so happy to see some of the old ones taken off the shelves. Best wishes in finding what you need and perhaps this device will work for you.
God Bless and Peace. Thomas.
