Identifying Your Sterling Silver Bracelet: Origin & Age

Question

Bracelet
Hi,

I have a sterling silver bracelet that was my grandmothers and I was wondering if you could tell how old it is or who made it. It has .925 in a circle and then above that all I can make out is AL. I'm not really concerned with value I'm just interested to know if it is old and who made it. I attached a picture, I hope it works! Thank You!!

Answer
Hello Gail and thank you for your inquiry. The 925 in a circle does mean that your bracelet is sterling silver but determining the age is difficult since you don't mention any other markings or hallmarks. The AL could be part of a producer name, but I haven't been able to locate anything similar. Just from your picture it has an art deco look to it. I wish I could help you more, but without more informatoin or a closer picture that's the best I can do.  Browse the online auctions such as ebay.com for vintage sterling bracelets and you may come upon something similar that will lead you in the right direction.
