Identifying a Unique Gold Ring Maker's Mark: Seeking Assistance

Question
I have a rose gold band with leaf decoration on outside and the only thing inside is a flared ends cross, inside a circle, inside a square.  I've been searching for this and cannot find anything but hope you can.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Brenda,

This mark you have descibed seems very farmiliar but I can't place it. It is unusual for there only to be one mark most old quality and makers marks travel in pairs. This is a makers mark or an assay mark but to have no quality mark is odd. There is no way to identify the quality of the gold (14k, 18K, etc). Has it been tested as 'gold'? Is there no history behind this piece, thast might help. Sorry I could not be more difinitive. Good Luck

Peter
