Question
Ring and Mark
Hi, I have a ring that belonged to my great-grandmother. I do know that she had several rings made to her own design, and that she favored platinum. I do not know if this is one of these rings. It is most likely made in the United States, on the east coast.
I am trying to identify the jeweler, and possibly when it was made.
The ring mark looks like an "arrow going through a U, with an 8 to the right".
The mounted stones appear to be diamond. First layer consist of ten stones, second layer consists of eight stones, with on stone located centrally on top.
Any help identifying this ring would be appreciated.
Thank you, George
AnswerHello George and thank you for your inquiry. I have checked my resources and have not been able to locate this manufacturer. Your ring is very beautiful and I suggest that you take it to an estate appraiser for assessment of the metal and stones. They may also be able to help you identify the manufacturer mark. The only manufacturer I could find that used an arrow is "Uncas", but it is a standing arrow, not through the initial. I will keep your question in the event I find a match for the mark and will let you know. Enjoy your ring !
