Understanding 14 KT Gold Stamping on Jewelry: What Does 'NT' Mean?
QuestionI recently purchased a tourmaline (pinkish red) and diamond ring. The inside is stamped 14 KT NT. I don't understand if it is gold or not. Thanks
AnswerG'day Pat and many thanks for your query.
The 14KT is the Gold quality mark indicating 14 Karat Gold while the NT is the Makers Mark or Store or design identification mark.
If you really want to be sure, why not get your local FRIENDLY jeweler do a written appraisal for you. At least then you will know the gold quality for sure.
You might also like to add this query to my blog at http://how2valuejewelry.com/ as other may have had a similar problem. Can't hurt anyway and who knows what answers you may get.
Hope this helps...
