Identifying Vintage Cameo Bracelet: GLPCO 1/10 Mark & Gold Content

Question
Hello,
I have a vintage cameo bracelet. The only mark I find is GLPCO 1/10. Is it worth testing or can I assume 1/10 means its either gold plated or gold filled? There is no kt mark that I can find. It came in its original green velvet presentation box. Through a 10x loupe I can see what looks like lifting of the gold in some areas and also the clasp has wear that looks like a different metal. I just want to be sure since I'm researching for a friend. I did come up with George L. Paine co. The mark I saw online was G.L.P.CO - not sure if that's the only mark they used. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Answer
Hello Karen and thank you for your inquiry. Sounds like a beautiful bracelet ! I would agree that the 1/10 is probably an indication of gold plated or filled. I have not been able to find any other information in my resources for this manufacturer. You might try your local library for old copies of the Jewelers Keystone monthly magazines for possible further information. Also if the cameos are shell and open back there may be an initial on the back indicating the cameo maker. This was sometimes done, but not always.  Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance and good luck !
