Decoding Ring Markings: What Do '8' and 'NV' Mean?

I over came a ring that 2 markings on the inner band.  The first marking was 8.  The second marking was NV?  I was just wondering what that meant.  i tried doing some research on it but I came up with nothing.  Hopefully you can help me out.  Thanks

Hi Deanna,

Neither marks are a 'quality mark' to tell you if it is gold or silver and what purity, so that would mean the marks are style, manufacturer, size, inventory # or a combination of them. These marks really don't tell much about the piece. That is probably why you came up with nothing in your research. Good Lick
