Vintage Gold Ring with W&G Stamp & Amber Gem - Appraisal & History

Hi i have a ring that was given to me buy my gran who is 80, i dont know if it was passed down to her or if it was bought for her. It has w & g stamp mark on the ring with 3 sqaure stamps next to it, i cant make out the writing on them as it is to small. it looks to be hand carved, pure yellow gold with a amber gem/dimond, which is an oval shape, on each side of the gem/dimond it has 3 small balls of gold, hoop are keeping the dimond in place and under the hoops there are more gold balls. i hope you can help me i have looked all over the internet.
AnswerThe engravings can be many things they can be the initials of the Goldsmith they can be the designer .. they can be who the ring was given to ... you will have to bring it into a Goldsmith he should have a very powerful lupe which will let him see these engravings much better..
