Spotting After Miscarriage: What Could It Mean?
QuestionHi, I'm 29 years old and I suffered a Miscarriage on 7/6/04. I was 16 weeks and 2 days along. I had a D & C after the miscarriage and was told by my doctor that I could start trying again after one normal period. I got my period on 8/9/04, my cycles have always been 33 days as a posed to the normal 28 days. I began to spot on 9/10/04, when I should have got my period. I used a sanitary napkin on that morning before I went off to work. By the time I came home that evening, there was nothing. The 11th came and went and nothing, the 12th came and still nothing. My husband suggested I do a home pregnancy test. I did, and to my shock, it showed a positive + sign. We are so excited. Now it's 9/14 and I've been having very light pinkish to light brownish discharge/spotting. It's only on the tissue when I wipe after I go to the bathroom. I have no cramping whatsever. We are so scared we are going to loose this baby too. I'm going crazy. Could this a bad sign of an impending miscarriage? I won't see my OBGYN until the 27th of this month the waiting is killing me. Help me Please!
AnswerHello Irelda. No, this is not necessarily a bad sign. As long as you have no cramping and heavy bleeding, try to relax and accept whatever the outcome may be. There is NOTHING anyone can do about it at this point anyway. Try to talk to your embryo about how much you want it to stay and accept that whatever happens, it is meant to be that way. All the best- Cheri.
