QuestionDear Dr Kandeel,
I hope this question finds you well.
I am 30 years old and have recently experienced my first pregnancy/miscarriage. Ultrasound at 8 weeks showed baby stopped growing at 7 weeks. I had a D and C. I am now on my second cycle after miscarriage and have not ovulated either time. I chart temperatures and use LH surge predictors. Is this normal? After how many anolulatory cycles do I need to see my Dr again? I am worried my body is now messed up and will not function normally again.
Also, is a progesterone level of 18.9 ng/ml a good value for a cycle day 21 test? This was my value on cycle day 21 of my pregnancy the month I got pregnant. I wonder if low progesterone levels could have influenced my miscarriage. Before taking Vitamin B6, my luteal phase was only 8-9 days.
Thanks SO much,
Sharon

Usually, ovulation resumes 6-8 weeks after a miscarriage although in some cases, it may take up to 12 weeks. No need to worry.
Progesterone level of 18 ng at day 21 is perfect.
Things will go well for you in the near future but most important is to stop worrying and thinking about it. Be aware that extreme degrees of anxiety, by themselves, may prevent ovulation.
