QuestionMy husband and I had our first miscarriage in Fab 05. I miscarried at 8 weeks. And Now we are trying to get pregnant again. However, we are currently in different geographical locations, and have not had the opportunity to concieve this month, but we did have the opportunity to concieve last month. However, my period arrived on time (actually a day early) and I assumed I wasn't pregnant. But my period only lasted 3 days. I ALWAYS have regular periods and they are ALWAYS 6-7 days. Now I am on day 14 of my cycle and spotting a dark brown color with some clotting. I have never spotted between periods before, and it doesn't resemble the bleeding I experienced during my miscarriage. I am not under any sort of stress that would cause this. What could spotting after an irregular period like that indicate? Could I be pregnant? Do I need to see my doctor?
AnswerHi Katherine,
I am sorry about your miscarriage.
I would go see your doctor; it is not unusual to spot while pregnant. The brownish blood is old blood. I am not sure what the spotting otherwise could indicate, though.... there are probably a handful of normal things that it could mean.
Just by chance did you try a home pregnancy test? it might be too early to pick up a positive even if you ARE pregnant, but trust me you can buy very reliable tests at the dollar store!
I would at the minimum call your doctor, see what they say. I hope it works out for you!
good luck
