QuestionI talked with my gynecologist about using my pills to lengthen my cycle and he recommended I take the pills I'm already taking (ON777) on a continuous basis for 3 cycles so I'll have my period every 10 weeks. Even though a gyn had previously told me this was impossible with triphasics, I'm 7 weeks into my cycle with no spotting. I wonder, though, if it wouldn't be easier on my body regarding PMS to group the pills by strength - taking all the whites, all the peaches, then all the oranges instead of taking white, peach, orange, white, peach, orange, etc. Would this alleviate mid-cycle PMS-like symptoms? Would the pills still be effective? Thanks!
Age: 28, no children, DOLP: July 26
AnswerThe reason we use triphasic pills is to mimic your regular cycle. I would suggest that you continue as you have been doing. Take the pills in order but merely leave out the last seven pills, if you want to use continuous hormonal therapy and avoid having a period. If you are uncomfortable with the triphasic pills, go on the coninuous one-strength pill or go on the new Seasonale, that you take for three months straight.
