QuestionHi there, It is so good to find a site like this one :)
A bit about me...
I am 22 (almost 23) have one son who just turned two last week and I am just about 28 weeks pregnant with baby number two...due date is Jan 12, 2006.
Here are my questions...
I was 100lbs prior to both pregnancies. My first son was born weighing 9lbs 7.5 oz. I delivered vaginally but did have stitches.
Everyone always told me that I would never look the same "down there" after giving birth. This was true for the first week or two but after that everything returned to "normal".
***As I said I am now almost 28 weeks into my second pregnancy and it looks like I just gave birth...(it looks like my insides are coming out). It's nothing over the top but it is noticable and has me a bit concerned. Do you know what could be causing this and is it "normal"?
Second question...
***Approx. one week prior to delivering my first son, my pelvis/pubic bones got so sore that I could barely walk. It was extremely painful. Though only 28 weeks pregnant so far...this has been going on for the last month or so. It is so painful that at times I can't get out of bed, walk or do the things that I need to do. Again...is this "normal" for a second pregnany?
Thanking you in advance for all your help...it is so greatly appreciated :)
AnswerYour vagina has become imflamed and I believe tht is what you are noticing "coming out". Just try sitz baths in warm water and ignore it. As long as thee is adequate growth of the baby and the heartbeat is fine, you should be fine. It sounds like you had a "symphysis pubic separation" during the last pregnancy, causing pain on your pelvic bone. This is due to separation of the ileum, ischeum and pubis. It may be relieved with a man's belt to "hold it together". Discuss it with your doctor. Diagnosis is made by one X-ray. It can be very painful, but returns to normal right after the delivery of the baby. You can take pain medication to control the discomfort.
