Pregnancy Labor Progress: 4cm, 75% Effacement & Military Hospital Discharge

Question
I am 22 years old.  I have one other child this is my 2nd pregnancy and 2nd baby.  My last menstural period was Dec 20th, 2004. My duedate is this Monday Sept 26th,2005.  I am now at 4cm and 75% effaced, but the miltary hospital sent me home early Friday morning becuase in an hour I didn't get to 5cm.  I went from 5cm-10cm with my first in less than 15 min where I had to have a natural childbirth. Now the military hospital is 35min or more away and there is a civilian one closer but have to call miltary one first to get approved for the closer one. My question is when I will be admitted and actually go into labor again.

Answer
When you start to have contractions every 6-8 minutes (from the start of one to the start of the next one) at the level of your belly button, and each one lasts for at least 45 secnids, you should be admitted to the hospital. If you are already 4cm dilated, you may progress rapidly. If you are that far away from the hospital, I would try to convince the staff to allow you to remain in the hospital. It is better to be safe than sorry. If there is any doubt, they can stimulate your labor.
