Postpartum Vaginal Healing: Understanding a Persistent Opening After a Second-Degree Tear

I had my son 9 weeks ago and the second day home from the hospital i noticed an extra hole near my vagina. Well I did tear from having my son and it was only a second degree one. So at my postpartum appointment I asked what the hole was and she said that it maybe where she missed a stitch. my real question is that there is like a an inch between the area where she stitched and the area of the hole. Everything has healed properly minus the hole. should i be concerned of it tearing during sex? the hole is about 1/2 inch long.

This is an unusual problem.

I'm uncomfortable with the "maybe it's" diagnosis. Your doctor should be able to exactly identify the problem and provide an appropriate solution. If your current doctor is unable or unwilling to do this, get a second opinion.
