Nighttime Calf Pain: Causes, Relief & Potential Deficiencies

Question
Steady aching pain in my calves occurs every night, often awakening me from sleep.  Rising and moving around resolves the pain very quickly. I am 60 years old, have HBP which is being treated with 10 mg. of Lotensin qd, also mild osteoarthritis for which I recently started Bextra.  I take 600+ mg. of Calcium with Magnesium and Zinc daily.  This has been going on for several years now, and I wonder if it's a potassium or magnesium deficiency, since starting the Calcium WITH the magnesium did seem to help a little.  My internist doesn't offer much advice except "see your chiropractor."

Answer
I wonder if it's a potassium or magnesium deficiency, since starting the Calcium WITH the magnesium did seem to help a little. Yes, ask your internist if you could take Caltrate with D twice a day and 400mg of magnesium oxide twice a day plus B-150 twice a day? OK
