Sharp Calf Pain: Causes, Relief & When to See a Doctor

Question
For several weeks now (about 5) I've been having sharp shooting pain in the middle and upper part of my calf. It only lasts for a few seconds to a minute then is gone. It tends to happen more when I'm walking or standing but has occurred while sitting or lying down a few times. I have not injured it and I don't participate in any strenuous activity whatsoever. I'm not overweight at all. The only other issue I've been battling is very low blood sugar (in the 50s) but I've adjusted my diet and it's much better. What could this be possibly and do you recommend I go see a Dr?

Answer
mid upper calf... blood clots... I would expect swelling, maybe a tender cord like feeling, redness.  There are small muscles back there that can be torn/strained and cause problems, even without strenuous exercise, you can move wrong.  But with it lasting this long, you have to get it evaluated... I hope this helps
