QuestionI am a paraplegic (since 1950), age 93. Legs swell during day due to circulation
but at night when the swelling subsides somewhat I experience substantial pain
in one leg only (not the leg that swells the most during the day). Have tried
analgesics, antiinflammatories, ankle wrapping, nothing helps. Doctors don't
know what might relieve pain. Any ideas.
AnswerHi Joseph and thanks for writing,
I'm more concerned with properly identifying the actual cause of the pain, not just finding a drug to cover it up. Have your doctors investigated it thoroughly - how about your circulation, possibly a clot or DVT?
My advise is to look further into the diagnostics and then once you have a better idea what you're dealing with you can treat it accordingly.
All my best,
Margot
