Pink & White Powder Manicures: Risks, Ingredients & Alternatives

Question
My salon started using Pink and White Powder to have the forever french manicure look - I loved the look and tried it.  I got blisters under each fingernail at the tip, the tops of my fingers around the nail swelled...had to take them off.  Tried again a couple years later and still same result this time tho a trip to the Doctor was required for antibiotics and anti-inflammatories.  What is in the liquid that is used with the powder?  Is there a hypo-allergenic version?  I am relegated to the silks - and although nice - not nearly as nice as the pink & white.

Answer
It sounds that what you are experiencing is an overexposure reaction, the liquid is monomer but it should never be allowed to touch the sorrounding skin, some nails techs use way to much liquid and it gets into the clients grooves, some may experience this raection, some may not. If this is not the case (no liquid is coming in contact with your cuticles) you are experiencing an allergic reaction and instead of acrylic you might what to try having gel or fiberglass nails.
Hope i could help.
