Gel Nails in Healthcare: Safety Concerns and Alternatives

Hi there
I work in a hospital and they are now saying that gel nails are not allowed and in fact are a safety issue. What is your take on this and is there any information out there that goes against the hospital's findings?

Well, there are some places that do not allow enhancements but what do they allegate concretely to say that they are unsafe? I also do not know what your functions are and if the gel nail may or may not interfere there. Ususally enhancement are not allowed becuse of the length factor (because they are more prone to collecting dirt under them, because they might hurt, etc) but that allegation is not really only aplicable to gel nails but all nails, if the lenght is kept short there is no problem, unless they only allow you to wear nail cutten really short, without any free edge, in this case, having gel nails is not really worth it, and it is better to just have regular manicures.
