Questionsaw some of your things on the internet...perhaps you can tell me who can best fix this...recently had pink and whites put on..love them, however i banged the end of my thumb straight into the wall, rather hard about a week ago. hurt lots! no pain now, been keeping it in a metal splint like cage...however, the nail is lifting from the end of my finger if it wiggle it. What's the best way to remove pink and white (salon or dr?) I figure that's the first step to see what exactly ive got under there (No infection or anything, peroxide twice a day). Would this ever grow back or will need my nail removed? by dr? I just don't want a dr to remove my entire nail if not necessary, yet don't want problems!
thanks so much in advance!!
AnswerOUCH! That sounds so painful! If you have any concerns at all about infection or deformity, see your doctor first thing. Then, have your nail tech soak the enhancement off your thumbnail (using a cotton ball soaked in acetone, and covered with aluminum foil), assuming the lifted area isn't raw. If you aren't able to tolerate the acetone, the nail should be shortened and the product carefully thinned out with an abrasive. Keep the nail short as it grows, and the lifted area *should* grow out. And if you do put more product on that nail, keep it short (barely past the tip of your finger or shorter) until the lift grows out (extra length can put pressure on the area and cause it to lift again.). It will look strange for a few weeks, but it's better for the health of your nail in the long run. :)
I hope this helps! Feel free to follow up if you have any other questions.
