Nail Extension Issues: Troubleshooting Lifting & Fraying

Question
after finishing applying nail extensions, what would be the cause of the false nail pointing upwards or downwards?

and also what causes a fiberglass nail to fray?

many thanks

Answer
These both have to do with application.  Fiberglass wrap or silk wrap will fray if you have not applied enough layers of your preferred glue/resin (causing the wrap to "fray" when it is filed during finishing), and how you apply your tip or place your form will constitute how the nail curves.  If it curves up, this nail is what's called a "ski slope" nail, it naturally curves up.  What is usually most desirable is a slight curve DOWN, and on ski slope nails the only way to achieve this is by tipping the nail, and angling it slightly down.

Hope this helps you!  :)
