Nail Primer Application: Best Practices & Avoiding Mistakes

Question
hi...ok so what do you do when you touched the nail primer with your hands when you're putting an artificial nail in do you take off the nail completely and start over again or do you just reapply the nail primer to the nail????

Answer
First off- primer should only EVER touch the nail plate.  ONLY.  Do NOT put it on top of the plastic tip, already applied liquid and powder, or the like.  If it was applied to the nailplate, had already gone chalky in appearance, and then you touched it, then YES, you will need to re-prime the nail.

Acid based primers are extremely corrosive, and if you are having problems "touching" this product, I would highly recommend wearing gloves until your control gets better.  Primer burns are no fun for anyone.  The same rules apply if you are using an acid free primer- once you touch the nail plate, it is contaminated with your skins oils, etc., and should be re-applied.

:)Good luck!
