QuestionWhat credentials does a nail specialist use after her name when she has received her license.
Fort example...when you go to college and ge a bachelor degree u use Vilma Aponte, B.Sc....when you get your doctorate you use MD or Ph.D or Psy.D.
What letters does a nail specialist use? Would it be LNS as in Licensed Nail Specialist??????
Thank you!
AnswerA few years ago, there was much debate on this subject on a popular professional networking forum. The most popular answer was "L.N.T." (Licensed Nail Technician.)
Largely, it depends on where you practice and what state you are licensed by. For example: in CA, where I practice, our licenses say "manicurist" as opposed to "nail specialist" or "nail technician."
The truth of the matter is that there is no universally accepted designation, so you can use whatever you prefer. Bear in mind, the public will most likely not look at those letters and think "OH! a NAIL Specialist!" They will wonder what the letters mean. This is great for striking up conversation, but might work against you if you aren't there to explain it to them.
I always write out "nail enhancement artist" on my cards, just to avoid confusion.
