Maintaining Porcelain French Manicures: Care & Longevity

Question
I have had my nails done for the first time.  I have porcelain french manicure.  I wondered if there is anything I need to do to maintain my nails in between trips for filling, etc.  Would appreciate any suggestions.  I am new at this.

Answer
I'm sorry but I am not familiar with porcelain nails at all.  I have even checked all my resource books and the best I am able to find is that at one point acrylic nails could be referred to as porcelain because when acrylic was first developed it was similar to what dentists used to fill cavities in teeth (and these kind of fillings are sometimes referred to as porcelain fillings and crowns) I am still researching your question and hope to find a better answer for you!
Upon further checking the above answer seems to be very much correct.  The 1st products that were used were acrylic products that contained MMA (which are now illegal because of being deemed unsafe by the FDA).  If what you received is truly MMA based product (commonly referred to as porcelain nails) you should not continue to use this product as well as report the salon that used it.
Clarify with the salon call and ask for a product name (ie brand name)  also see http://www.nailsbydesign.homestead.com/MMA.html for further clarification.
