Why Are My Nails Yellowing? Causes & Prevention

I used acrylic for about 3 months for the strength it provides. Then I switched to gel for the last 3 months for the same reason. I like the natural look so I don't get tips or polish and my nails are close to 1 inch long. Now my problem is that the gel starts to turn yellow after a couple days. Will acrylic do the same and is there anything I can do to maintain my natural looking nails?

I am going by what you have told me and I think someone might have told you you have gel when you do not.
Gel doesn't yellow.
If what is being applied to your nails is a liquid and powder mixture it is not a gel.alot of salons have been putting a sealant type top coat on at the end of an acrylic service and telling clients they now have gel.
I would try a different salon. and make sure when the product is applied it is in a gel consistency and cured under a UV light.
