Best Acrylic Powder for Gel Nails: Strength & Durability

QUESTION: I have been getting gel nail for 2 yrs now, the tech uses a "different" acrylic powder for the gel nail than he does for ordinary acrylic nails.  It makes my nails much stronger and I get the "curve" I want.  my question, what is the best acrylic powder to use with gel as when I am traveling I do my own nail as opposed to a stranger doing them.

Before I answer let me get this correct. Your tech applies Acrylic on top of gel or the other way around? If you tell me the procedure I can look into it. I have seen techs mixing acrylic with gel so it will become solvable but but a curve is usually filed in a particular way to get it like that.

In any way I think that you should always use a familiar USA brand such as EzFlow, IBD or Super nail. I will also check with a colleague elite IBD master educator for his opinion on this subject and I will contact you soon again.

Ok that's clear. Most techs will do this to indeed make it stronger as gel seals the nail completely and becomes non-porous so nothing can penetrate through that last layer of gel. Most probable your tech will use a fast curing acrylic. If I were you I would go for a brand that sells gel and acrylic for they most of the time have the same compatible chemicals and research departments. I recommend to use IBD acrylic and use IBD Clear gel to seal off the nail on top of the acrylic application.
