QuestionI have a bracelet that was my grandmothers. On the inside it reads The DFB Co USA,Carmelita,Pat applied for. The stones are purple in color,an oblong shape. Do you know the approximate year of the bracelet and an approximate value? Grandma was born in the 1890's. Thank you, Cheryl
AnswerHello Cheryl and thank you for your inquiry. Your bracelet was made by D. F. Briggs Company/Briggs Bates & Bacon in Attleboro,Mass. They were in business c. 1892 through the 1950's as far as I can tell. They had excellent style and workmanship. Carmelita probably refers to the design. It would be difficult to give you a value without an actual hands on inspection. However, you might find one similar at one of the online auctions such as ebay.com. Use their search for Carmelita bracelet. You may find something similar. I found a site listed below that has some pictures of the Carmelita bracelets, but no prices. Just copy and paste the url below into your browser address field and hit enter.

Most of the expansion bracelets of this type - costume - non precious metal sell for $25 - $75.00 depending on condition, rarity and design. Hope this helps !
