QuestionI dipped my lapis ring in silver cleaner and what looks like a film formed over the lapis changing its color. When i wet the stone, it returns to its original color. Is there anyway the stone can be restored?
AnswerWell never had this problem before but what should work is to have the stone repolished...
this means going back to a belt grit that will remove film and than final belt grit
that makes the stone glossy new looking...the polishing is easy and should be very
cheap..finding a polisher may be tricky...try to find a one man business and will be cheap..
maybe around $10 at the most....many polishers are on eBay...
