Identifying Unusual Stones: Help with WWII Philippine Find

My dad recently gave me a stone that he brought back from WWII that he got from the Phillipines. He has five of them and calls them cateyes. I can't find anything on what kind of stone this could be. Do you know what kind of a website a can search?

Does the stone have a catseye? I can not see it with this picture. You would need a better light source to get a better picture. True catseye is Chyrsoberyl the same family as Alexandrite.
Just do a search on Chyrsoberyl on google you can also see examples on e-bay.
